Learning biology is cumulative. Like learning mathematics or other science subjects - it's important to understand the basics before you can tackle complex concepts.
While most students have the right idea on how to approach studying biology, they also need a little push to achieve their goals. We've found that all it takes is the right kind of guidance at the right time.
The local biology tutor in Oakville we work with are there to assist so that passing and excelling at biology doesn't seem like such a hurdle. What we look for is someone who can adjust to your child's needs, who can observe their study habits and guide them through the learning process. So what does that mean exactly?
For instance, most students know they should go over past exams and take notes. What students also sometimes do is fixate on individual questions too much and even try to memorise them. While they know what they should be doing, they might not know how to do it. This is why tutoring is invaluable.
All we need to get things started is to have a chat with you to figure out what your child needs. We organise one-on-one biology tutoring in Oakville, at your home. There are no extra fees, just a simple hourly rate.
And what if you don't like the tutor? No worries, it happens from time to time and we understand that! That's why the first lesson comes as a risk-free trial.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
We seem to be going backward in some areas and picking up on others at the same time. Her ability to self-question is strong but there is some lazy thinking where she won't want to go back and rework the question. I think this is just a confidence thing where she may be a little scared to be wrong which I will work on with her this coming month. She seems to be picking up on the clearer note taking and writing down all her working when needed.
Shivani still shows a great level of enthusiasm in her studies, which is important for keeping her interested and focused. Given the extensive amount of work I have seen Shivani completing over the past few week with her transition into year 12, I believe there is no concern in terms of her efforts or work habits, and Shivani should strive to continue working as well as she is.
Long division is something we have been working on throughout the past month, which Tamieka still struggles with. I believe this is mainly difficulty in understanding the procedure of performing long division and not difficulty in understanding the concept of division. Scales and converting between scales of different amounts ie. a scale of 1cm10m. Although I believe this is due to the teaching situation rather than any difficulties on Tameika's part.

Yes very happy with Phoebe she is a wonderful tutor & very pleasant towards my girls they feel at ease with her as she explains all maths concepts in the simplest of forms (much to the delight. of my daughter Phoebe who said she's learned/understood a lot more in the last three weeks than she had learned all of last year) & she's building up their confidence to have a more positive outlook when approaching their maths homework!
I just got back from the US this morning we are very happy with Rhett and Connor has really clicked with him and his teaching methods. Under Rhetts tutoring Connor managed to go from a fail to a C+ 65% on his resit after only two sessions with Rhett so a great achievement if we had the ability to have more sessions with Rhett we would happily take them.
So far Katie has been prompt, personable and prepared. As you say it is very early days -we are only just getting to the point where we are clear on where she is at and where she needs to be.
