Every student needs help sometimes, and often that help is needed in English. From basics like punctuation, spelling and grammar right up to narrative writing, proof reading and literary analysis. The Australian curriculum is thorough and there are various challenges that pop up for students over the years. At some point most students could use some help and an English tutor does just that - help! Ideally that help comes before the student has formed a negative cycle or fallen into a no-effort habit.
What we do is facilitate that help as a home service, we'll organise an in-home English tutor in Belmont, or wherever it is convenient for you.
A local Belmont English tutor will come to you at a time and day of your chosing and offer tutoring help in a manner tailored for your child's unique situation. The first lesson works as a trial so that if your child doesn't connect well with the tutor, you don't have to pay and we can organise someone else for you.
The terms of service are super simple too. No contracts or minimum hours or cancellation fees or anything like that. You get charged a simple hourly rate. That's it.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
For the month of September the main topic for Cooper to focus on was angles. This involved identifying different types of angles, measuring the angles using a protractor, inferring the size of an angle from the adjacent angles and solving questions combing both angles and algebra. This involved Cooper further developing his transfer skills as he is now required to transfer what he learnt last month with algebra and apply it to questions that involve both angles and algebra.
Caroline has an increasingly positive attitude towards maths. Caroline puts a good amount of effort into her work, both in sessions and out. Caroline has improved her work habits a lot, she always brings her books to sessions.
We have been working on Taylah's spelling and have been focussing on specific sounds in words. We are slowly building up to spelling full words and there is still a way to go. Taylah often does not know the concepts underlying maths however it is not clear to me if her teacher explains this or not.

I am extremely happy with Nicky's tutoring. She instantly developed a lovely rapport with my daughter Bonnie. Nicky is very patient and great at explaining maths concepts in a way that is easy for Bonnie to understand. I am already seeing a much more positive attitude to maths in Bonnie and she feels more confident to do maths lessons at school. We got a good one!
Oscar is learning more from Sean than he is in the classroom. Sean is very patient and has established rapport.
Chloe gets along very well with Huey & has told us she feels much better already.
