Most important things I can do for a student is to ensure whether the student has actually understood the topic or not. I will patiently understand the doubts of a student to identify the weak area of a student and make a plan to strengthen those areas. My strength as a tutor is to clearly explain the logic behind the method used and majorly focus…

A tutor needs to help the students understand the concepts and the "why" behind the problem. This allows them to be able to solve problems on their own and increase their confidence. Creating a judgment-free and supportive environment, where students can ask questions and mistakes are not punished, is essential for a tutor to help a student…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to make the subject matter they are teaching enjoyable to learn. This is important because learning should be something we actively engage in and if a tutor can make it so the students seek out learning more readily then they have already succeeded in some sense. As a tutor my strengths are…

Local Reviews

Bailey is just fantastic. Our son (in Year 10) looks forward to every session and his confidence has improved immensely. Bailey understands our son's weaknesses and with his intelligent teaching methods, works very hard to improve his maths skills. Our son finds it very easy to communicate with Bailey and his teaching methods are also easy for our son to understand. Bailey is always punctual and has even worked on holidays and weekends to help our son prepare for tests. We are so happy and blessed to have him tutor our son. Thank you Bailey & EzyMath Tutoring. Your excellent work and dedication is much appreciated.

Inside Rose BayTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Scarlett worked on strengthening her understanding of sentence structure—focusing on independent and dependent clauses—and expanded her vocabulary through activities on Greek and Latin roots.

In Year 12, Aimee revised key Chemistry topics by practising stoichiometry calculations, including mole-mass conversions, and reviewed Organic Chemistry concepts using sample SAC questions.

Charli, also in Year 12, deepened her knowledge of the adaptive immune system and applied this by answering relevant multiple choice and short answer Biology questions from recent class material.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 Chemistry, Aimee sometimes became overwhelmed by multi-step problems, tending to overcomplicate her approach rather than breaking questions into manageable parts. As one tutor noted, "I demonstrated to Aimee how to summarise the essential features of the questions and convert these to a meaningful form."

In Year 3 English, Scarlett often hesitated before starting writing tasks, doubting her ideas and stalling on personal pieces. This led to delays in drafting and less time for revision.

In both cases, immediate feelings of frustration or uncertainty meant valuable learning time was spent circling confusion instead of building confidence.

Recent Achievements

One Rose Bay tutor noticed a real shift with Aimee (Year 12 Chemistry): she now routinely attempts new SAC topics before they're taught in class and applies systematic approaches independently—last week, she correctly answered an equilibrium question she'd previously struggled with.

Charli (Year 11 Biology) was more proactive than before, highlighting areas of uncertainty and asking clarifying questions; when we put tricky concepts into context, her understanding noticeably improved.

Meanwhile, Cameron (Year 7 English) moved from needing prompts to confidently writing creative stories solo and openly sought feedback on grammar as they drafted their latest piece.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as State Library of Tasmania—or at your child's school (with permission), like Rose Bay High School.
