5. Tutor profiles, testimonials and public material
Information and materials supplied in connection with a tutor application, profile or engagement may be selected, edited, formatted, summarised, combined with other relevant information, published and promoted by us for purposes including operating and marketing our tutor network and connecting tutors with students, families and participating organisations.
This material may appear on our websites, platforms, directories, search results, social media, advertisements and other communications. It may include a tutor’s name, photograph, general location, subjects, availability, education, qualifications, experience, interests, profile statements and other professional information supplied to or approved for use by us.

Tutors may contact us to request that public profile information be corrected, updated or removed. Material removed by us may remain temporarily visible in search-engine caches, archives or third-party services that we do not control.
We may also publish testimonials, reviews, feedback, photographs or other content where the person has agreed to publication, submitted it for that purpose or publication is otherwise authorised.
6. Direct marketing and communications
We may use personal information to respond to enquiries and communicate with prospective, current and former clients, tutors, applicants, service providers and business contacts. Where permitted by law, we may also contact people about tutoring available through Ezy Math, our platform, matching and support services, tutor opportunities, updates, offers and other information we consider may be relevant to them. We may communicate by telephone, email, SMS, direct mail, online advertising or other channels, either ourselves or through service providers acting on our behalf.

A person may opt out of marketing communications at any time by using an unsubscribe facility provided in the communication or by contacting us. We will process opt-out requests in accordance with applicable law. Opting out of marketing will not prevent us from sending communications reasonably required to respond to an enquiry, administer a service or account, manage a tutor relationship, provide safety information or comply with law.

Parents and guardians who provide information about a student confirm that they are authorised to do so. Where appropriate, we may communicate with or disclose relevant information to a student’s parent or guardian, tutor or another person involved in the student’s tutoring, welfare or safety.

Our websites, platforms and communications may use cookies, pixels, tags, log files and similar technologies. These technologies may collect information about a person’s device, browser, IP address, location at a general level, website use, referring source and interactions with our pages, advertisements and communications.
We may use this information to operate our websites, remember preferences, understand traffic and usage, measure advertising, personalise content, improve services, prevent misuse and support marketing. We may receive related information from analytics, advertising, communication and technology providers and may combine it with other information we hold where permitted by law.
Browser or device settings may allow a person to block or remove some cookies. Doing so may affect the operation or availability of some website functions.
Third-party websites, platforms and services linked to or used with our services have their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for how an independent third party handles information outside our control.
10. Storage, security and overseas service providers
We may hold personal information electronically or in physical records, including in systems operated by us or by service providers.
Some service providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries in which they or their infrastructure operate. The countries involved may vary over time and may not always be practicable for us to identify. Where applicable, we take steps required by Australian law in connection with overseas disclosures.
We take reasonable steps in the circumstances to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. However, no website, communication, database or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may retain personal information for as long as reasonably required for the purposes described in this policy, our business and record-keeping requirements, safety and fraud prevention, accounting, insurance, dispute management, legal claims and compliance with law. Where applicable law requires us to do so, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify personal information that is no longer reasonably required for a permitted purpose. Deletion from backups, archives and third-party systems may occur through normal retention cycles.
11. Access, correction and profile removal
A person may contact us to request access to personal information we hold about them or to ask that it be corrected. A tutor may also request correction or removal of their public tutor profile.
We may need to verify the person’s identity and obtain enough information to locate and assess the relevant records. We may refuse or limit a request where we are not legally required to provide access or where refusal or limitation is otherwise permitted by law. Where required by law, we will explain a refusal.
We do not usually charge for making a request. Where permitted by law, we may charge reasonable costs involved in responding to a substantial or complex access request.
