How much tutoring does your child need?

The WACE Mathematics Applications formula sheet is most useful when its formulas feel connected to real questions about finance, measurement, data, networks and time series. Open the official 2026 SCSA file below and keep a clean copy beside you during practice. Learn the route from the words in a question to the relevant part of the sheet.

Which students and exams does this resource apply to?

SCSA labels this as the Mathematics Applications ATAR course formula sheet for 2026. The document states that it is valid for teaching and examining until 31 December 2026. If you are sitting the examination in another year, use the sheet published for that year rather than assuming the 2026 file is unchanged.

What is included?

The sheet collects formulas and relationships used across the ATAR course. It helps with recall, but Applications questions also test whether you can choose data, set up a model, use technology accurately and explain what a result means. The formula is often the middle of the solution, not the whole solution.

How to use the WACE Mathematics Applications formula sheet

Keep the current examination-year sheet beside you while working across finance, measurement, networks and data. Label periods and units before using a relationship. After calculating, return to the practical question and state the decision, estimate or limitation the number supports.

The unfiltered bottom line

  • The examination year matters. Use the SCSA sheet issued for your sitting rather than assuming the 2026 document is permanent.
  • Units and time periods must agree. Convert measurements, rates and payments before using a formula or calculator process.
  • Finish in the real situation. State what the route, schedule, payment, estimate or data result means and apply sensible rounding.

Practise by question type

Group several finance, network, measurement or data questions and locate the relevant part of the sheet for each. Compare similar formulas and note what changes in the situation. This reduces guesswork when two relationships look alike.

Keep periods and units consistent

Write the time period beside rates and payments, and convert measurements before substituting. In a multi-step problem, carry the unit or period through every line. This is especially important when technology hides intermediate values.

Finish with a decision in context

Many Applications questions are about a route, schedule, payment, estimate or conclusion. After calculating, answer that practical question in words. Include sensible rounding and any limitation the question asks you to discuss.

Common mistakes to watch for

  • Using a formula sheet for a different examination year.
  • Mixing time periods, units or payment directions in a model.
  • Copying a calculator result without checking the setup.
  • Stopping at a number when the question asks for a practical conclusion.

For the 2026 Applications exam: Use the 2026 sheet throughout your 2026 practice so the layout becomes familiar. Mark your work by method and interpretation, not only by the final number, then repeat weak question types with a clean sheet.

What they say about our tutoring

Mitchell is happy with the new tutor, thank you. Sean is a good communicator which makes Mitchell feel more relaxed thanks again.
We are very happy with Sheetal. Timothy is making great progress and we are happy to continue. We will have Tim do his Navy test in a few weeks and if we need to do a bridging course we will ask Sheetal to tutor him with that as well.
Ezy Math Tutoring Philosophy

Our philosophy to teaching is based upon a firm belief that every child can succeed at maths or any other subject, given the proper encouragement, motivation and tools. We believe that a tutor’s …
