What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Especially for mathematics, the most rewarding moment in tutoring for me is when a student finally understands a concept or idea that they have previously struggled with. This extends to when they are able to complete questions surrounding this concept afterwards with ease and confidence, despite previously having little understanding of the concept previously.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One of my strengths is my patience. Different concepts can take varying amounts of time to be learnt depending on the student, and patience is essential in ensuring that the student does not feel pressured or rushed into understanding something immediately.
Another of my strengths is my creativity. Everyone learns in their own unique way, and it is crucial for a tutor to be creative in their approaches to teaching to ensure that their teaching style suits how a specific student learns.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think one of the most important things a tutor can do is be a mentor for a student. Whilst a tutor's primary role is to help guide a student through a specific subject, a tutor can also be a source of motivation, counsel and admiration. A tutor can provide guidance on other aspects of school and life outside the subject they are teaching and can provide sound advice to a student.
