What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy the logical journey of leading a student through content and their epiphanies when they finally understand the reasoning behind certain methods and theories. The gratification of seeing them embrace curiosity for a subject more and seeing their confidence grow when their enthusiasm for that subject translates into exponentially better marks is really rewarding as a tutor.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I logically present my materials to explain concepts and utilise prompting questions in order for students to come to the correct conclusions themselves. This ultimately allows them to better draw relationships between concepts, and retain and apply their knowledge better than traditional memorisation allows for.
I can support my students in a way that allows them to feel comfortable enough to ask questions and clarify their doubts.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe that the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is foster an environment of belonging so that their curiosity and appreciation for the subject can be fostered without judgement, ultimately allowing them to better perform in exam situations.
I think reiterating to students that studying is a skill and not an innate quality is a surprisingly important thing a tutor can do as it can prompt students to persevere when they begin comparing themselves to others and feel demotivated, thus allowing them to stay consistent with studying.
