What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
Iβve found tutoring and more broadly, teaching, to be a rewarding pursuit at its heart. Not only does the student feel understand and accomplished as they approach new learning, but I feel as though Iβm making a change. The level of responsibility that I assume as a tutor further reinforces this mutual sense of reward. Oftentimes students can feel misunderstood or overwhelmed by formal classroom environments, so itβs thoroughly enjoyable to offer personalised advice through tutoring.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
As in all forms of teaching, I think proper communication ultimately is what leads to a better understanding. Having volunteered online teaching ESL to children in Cambodia for over a year now, Iβve been able to strengthen my communication - translating my own knowledge to children with a range of educational and age. Tutoring with EzyMath, I hope to reinforce my ability, and utilise what Iβve learned in high school for others.
Most important things I can do for a student π
While teachers can offer more general, introductory learning, I think the most important thing a tutor can offer is personalised teaching - this oftentimes means catering to individual learning provisions, or delving deeper into content than a teacher could. Having been through high school myself, where a range of students were aided by tutors, Iβve seen firsthand the short and long term benefits. Tutors not only serve to guide content learning, but reinforce useful study skills that pay off in years to come.
