What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy teaching/tutoring as I love seeing children make progress. I love the moments in my classroom when a child has found something difficult, but with my guidance and support they keep trying until they can do it independently. I always feel proud of both myself and them and it is a privilege to watch their confidence grow as a result of my teaching.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

As a primary teacher, I am used to planning lessons for up to 30 children at once. Ensuring that the lesson meets all of those children's individual need, challenging and supporting them where necessary. These skills will allow me to create very high quality lessons on a 1-1 tutoring basis. I am confident working with any primary school aged children. I have often been given positive feedback from parents and colleagues about my teaching approach. I teach maths daily in school. Primary maths was my speciality at university and was what I completed my dissertation on.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Get to know the student. E.g. understand how they like to learn, which areas they are already comfortable with and where they need support. Use this information to plan sessions which will be engaging and enjoyable while targeting the right areas of learning.
