What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The gratification that I gain from knowing that I can help a student understand what they did not (or did not completely) prior to my involvement. I also like the fact that not only am I paving the way for a child to excel in their studies, but also exposing the students to a great deal of potential for their future by exposing them to the world of mathematics.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I have experience being a below average students, and I have experience working my way to the top of the class in Mathematics. I understand the fact that some concepts that we may find intuitive or self-evident, may not be so for a student who may be missing some key concepts. I therefore value the understanding of basic concepts, and how a solid foundation of the basics can help a student become better, and by relating to the difficulties they face, I can effectively communicate these concepts to them.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Lay a proper foundation of basic concepts. It is not enough to give them shortcuts to quickly solve problems. Shortcuts are handy when practicing for quizzes and tests, and they also will help a student understand the concepts. But I think a tutor should strive to cater their teaching to aim to provide a student a solid understanding of the mathematical underpinnings of the concepts.
