What do I enjoy most about tutoring?
I genuinely believe that knowledge is power and by tutoring young minds I am empowering them to be able to open up their options when it comes to making decisions about their future. It would be extremely self-fulfilling to see that I would be making a positive impact on these children's lives and improving their skills and motivating them to continue doing better and inspiring them to strive for excellent results.
My Strengths as Tutor
My strengths would definitely be the informal experience I've had tutoring my brother and some of my younger relatives, as well as my own friends during HSC.
My warm personality and skills of patience, persistence and adaptability would also be great strengths when tutoring young people. I'm always prepared to change the way I explain the working out to problems to suit the person I am tutoring and I believe that is extremely important as a tutor.
Most important things I can do for a student
The most important things a tutor can do for a student is not only to improve their results, which is still most important, but to inspire and motivate them to do better than what they are limiting themselves to. I would love for students to actually enjoy going into their maths class and feel comfortable with the subject because they actually understand the topic and what is going on in the classroom. This will inspire them to motivate themselves into achieving their personal bests and that is exactly what a tutor should be trying to achieve.
