What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Tutoring is a very satisfying job for me because I get to see a transformation in students. There's nothing better than seeing that "Aha" moment in students' eyes when, after days or hours of struggling through a concept, they finally understand how to find the solution. Simply being able to guide them to this is the most enjoyable part about tutoring for me.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I've seen my style as a tutor evolve throughout my learning and tutoring days. My strengths as a tutor are the energy and passion I bring (making sure to set a good positive tone at the start of every tutoring session), a learning style (guiding students to the answer so they learn the process rather than giving them the answer if they begin to struggle), communication skills (being able to adapt my teaching to students of different abilities and learning styles) and ability to engage (making the session interactive, keeping the student alert and knowing when to take a break).
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Having a growth mindset as a tutor in combination with the 7 C's are the most important qualities for a tutor. The 7 C's are: control (coming prepared for the lesson and having a plan), clarity (providing straightforward explanations and finding ways to clarify confusing concepts), conversation (engage and interact with students), care (wanting the student to improve and adapting your style to their needs), challenge (ask what-if questions), consolidate (review all the concepts learned in a given session) and captivate (bringing energy and passion).
