What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Seeing the moment of realisation on a students face as they understand a concept for the first time, as well as getting asked interesting questions I haven't thought of before.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I find mathematics (or anything that requires logical thinking really) very intuitive to me, which helps me to walk through problems in a very systematic and structured way.
This combined with my university education means that high-school level mathematics is fairly easy for me to work through.
I also like to make sure a concept is fully understood before moving on to other topics, and I would say I'm reasonably aware of the capabilities of my students in the past.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe that one of the most effective parts of tutoring is the repetition of concepts from both the school and the tutor, which helps drill in the point. It's easy to gloss over something if it's only taught once (i.e. just schoolwork), but if it crops up again and again (i.e. from schoolwork + tutoring + homework), then the concept sticks much better, especially if it's the parents that are pushing the student to do extracurricular studies rather than the students own volition.
