What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Seeing the flash of insight when a student has struggled with a concept, especially if a student is initially lacking in confidence or considers themselves "not a maths person". It's these sort of students I most enjoy seeing improve, and gain confidence.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I'm patient, encouraging and want to see students improve. Mathematics in particular can be a source of frustration for many students (I used to be one myself) and I know firsthand what it is like to have struggled with some of the more difficult concepts.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing a tutor can do is to get a proper understanding of the level of mathematical 'maturity' of a specific student, rather than just assuming a certain background knowledge. Once this is established, it's possible to get the core of what exactly a student is struggling with (usually a particular fundamental concept) and then strengthen understanding on that issue.
