What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The best part about tutoring is that both the tutor and the student get something out of it. The student starts to understand the topic at hand, and the tutor earns valuable experience and feels good that they've hopefully made a difference.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Personally when i help friends out with their math work (typically the calculus and differential equations found in engineering and physics), I put emphasis on why the work they are completing is important. If the student understands the motivation behind the given topic, then they build appreciation for the topic. I think this is what i do best.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
1) Intuition. As i talked about previously, real world motives for each problem is a clever way to potentially get a student to develop an appreciation (and some motivation) for the given math problem.
2) Attitude. It's important that the student realizes that getting questions right all the time isn't what makes you good at math. It's about having the resilience to look back on incorrect work multiple times and identifying where it went wrong.
