What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Watching a students growth and awareness grow. The 'aha' moment when a student sees something they previously found unfathomable become recognisable. I also enjoy exploring and learning new concepts and deepening known ones.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Creating a relationship of support and trust. I also have many years as a primary trained teacher to draw upon, using different learning styles and approaches to find one that most supports a student's understanding. A calm, deliberate manner, that allows students to feel safe in a learning environment.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Empower students into a belief in their own capacity for learning. Through a balance of direct instruction and considered questioning, allowing students the time, when appropriate, to come to their own conclusions and recognise how they learn. At other times, clear and direct instruction to embed the fundamentals required for further learning to occur. Of utmost importance is to encourage the student's self-belief as a learner and help provide the motivation for learning.
