What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I love most about tutoring is helping children meet their full potential and let them develop a love for learning. It is so important to me that students love what they are doing, I want them to really enjoy their texts as I believe this will enhance their writing. However, seeing their individual progress and improvement is one of the most rewarding things I have ever experienced. In order to see these results I will always push and extend students wherever I can so that they can see and feel this improvement themselves. As an avid reader I also really enjoy engaging with different texts
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think my most prominent strengths as a tutor would definitely be patience, getting through to students and giving constructive feedback. I always really naturally good at English until I got to about year 10 and I began to struggle a little bit which meant I had to work a lot harder. This is exactly why I believe I am able to explain concepts to students so well and always get through to them. I am also a true believer in constructive criticism meaning that I find it so important to give students as much feedback as possible, both positive and negative so they feel empowered to improve.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is give them permanent skills that will develop and change their writing forever. Whilst working with a student on a regular basis is definitely the most effective way to improve one's marks if a tutor can give them a method of analysis or way to structure one's essay this will give them a permanent method to boost their work to a whole new level. This will mean that we can then take the lesson and level of critique to an even higher level really helping and encouraging the student.
