What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Seeing students learn, gain confidence, achieve success, and become independent learners. Encouraging them to become more willing to take chances, make mistakes, and continue trying.

I am experienced, professional, patient, and encouraging. I have taught a wide variety of students across a range of subjects. I am flexible and can respond to last-minute changes. I view every tutoring session as an opportunity to learn as well as to teach.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important thing is to get the student to think about how to learn. This skill is transferable across content areas and supports lifelong learning. Of course, teaching how to learn is not done via lectures or readings, but rather by example, practice, and reflection. Rather than simply giving answers, or doing the work for the student, a skillful tutor can help the student succeed with the explicit assignments and at the same time build up a framework for learning that will make both the current task and future tasks easier and more enjoyable.
