What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
It is most rewarding to see a student who initially struggles with an abstruse concept suddenly "click" when the concept is explained or demonstrated in an intuitive way.
I, myself, know the struggles of wanting to excel in all of my academic achievements; despite having a 3.81/4.00 HD GPA, it has been a grueling five years of discipline and hard work. That is why I sympathise with students, and wish to give them the tutoring that I wish I had during my early academic years.
I also enjoy giving one-on-one sessions to students who, like myself, may have been too shy to speak up during class.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I have the ability to dissect difficult-to-understand concepts into their intuitive, axiomatic building blocks which anyone can understand. I have patience and understanding and empathy with the student, since I was once in their situation.
I explain current concepts by drawing on previous, prerequisite concepts learned throughout the semester. This allows the students to "connect the dots" and see how their previous learnings apply to more complex situations
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
It is vital to have patience, sympathy, and empathy with students who are struggling to understand the topic at hand. It is also imperative for myself to revise over the content days prior to the tutoring session and prepare notes and example problems to demonstrate to the student. I must also know what the current student's strengths and weaknesses are, as well as their current knowledge.
