What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
It’s the thought process of students that I enjoy. Understanding how unique one’s thought process can be is really satisfying as it enhances the teaching experience and carrying this onto future students.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I have been to multiple coaching centres since Kindergarten and I have realised that all of it was futile and I didn’t benefit from any of them. From this experience, I’m able to avoid any teaching strategies that I’ve personally encountered as a student. Executing relevant materials concisely is the main thing and I believe I am highly capable of doing this, given the mentoring lessons will be provided.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Support. Providing a great amount of support and motivation is crucial for a student’s education path. Without this, a lack of drive would occur which is detrimental to their learning, ultimately affecting their peers around them which acts like the domino effect.

Lachlan was able to recall last week’s content and answer the given questions coherently. He raised few concerns last week regarding sector area and arc length. He feels much confident now in answering these types of questions. He was able to quickly recognise the pattern of radian conversion which is an essential skill in trigonometry.
Lachlan has no current concerns

While going through the exam together, Lachlan was able to quickly identify the type of question and what steps correspond to the problem. He was able to eliminate irrelevant options and choose the appropriate answer. He also seemed relatively confident with the new topic and basics of circles, finding the area of sectors and arc lengths. Lachlan initially had issues with sectors but feels much more confident in tackling sector area questions.
Lachlan sometimes requires help with simplifying algebraic fractions that are in condensed form. He will be given the Algebra and Arithmetic exam again to redo by himself before the next lesson. This will ensure that he is able to remember his initial mistakes and avoid them for future questions.

Lachlan was able to recall the different types of quadratics and linear expressions. He clearly remembers how to solve these types of questions without any hesitation. He also seems to find the concept of algebra easier in comparison to previous years. He was able to answer all simultaneous questions by himself without my help, which is very good progress. He has overall improved immensely for algebra and arithmetic since last year.
Lachlan requires more practice on factorising quadratics that tend to be in a complex form: non-monic quadratics.

Today we went through algebra and how it relates to basic arithmetic questions. Lachlan was able to recall the method on how to solve, factorise, simplify and expand algebraic expressions. He was confident in answering all given questions. Lachlan was also able to consolidate last week's knowledge of absolute values and inequalities. Lachlan also correctly answered the worded algebra related questions.
Simplifying complex expressions such as in fraction form. Lachlan tends to mix up the rule of addition and multiplication of fractions at times.
