My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I recently attempted a non-commercial tutoring job for chemistry and made a few mistakes. I underestimated the ability of the student and overestimated my ability to recall the information. I have; however, a good ability to analyse my performance and make corrections accordingly, so I shouldn't make those mistakes again. I am also very calm and slow to frustration around others, meaning that I am suitable for a range of different learning abilities. Many of the fellow students I helped often took several attempts before connecting with an idea.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

To help a student understand the core concepts being taught so that they can solve problems from first principles. To show a student different methods for learning effectively and to encourage them to adopt those methods. To convey the importance of being outside of one's comfort zone when it comes to learning. To teach a student the importance and intrinsic joy of learning, so that they continue to learn throughout life outside of (and sometimes, in spite of) formal schooling.
