What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love watching students come to understand concepts. The moment of epiphany, where they go "aha!" is fantastic. When they don't understand something, watching students perservere anyway is also highly motivating to me.
I like the opportunity to build a connection with students and encourage them. A lot of students get left behind in classrooms and tutoring helps them get the individualised support they need.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I'm good with making analogies to help students understand concepts in a different way. I have a lot of pedagogical knowledge due to my ongoing Masters degree in Teaching.
Because I have travelled and lived in different places, I have knowledge of diverse backgrounds and can support different students.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
It is important that a tutor is patient and is willing to break concepts down. A student should not feel intimidated or stupid, which requires the tutor put aside their own ego. A tutor needs to be able to assess a student's knowledge level and start from there. Working one on one, tutors can make personal connections more than teachers can and they can leverage these connections to help students more effectively.
