What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Being able to give students an "oh" moment where they are able to cross a barrier of self doubt and realise it is within their capabilities to do a certain question or excel at a certain topic.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Knowing there is different forms of learning and one student is not more intelligent than another, they just learn a certain method better. So if a student is struggling, they just need a new way to think about the problem. This allows me give students tools that will help in all their subjects by adjusting how they learn instead of forcing something on them they might not fully understand.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is teach them how to learn instead of teaching them the content just straight from the textbook. By this I mean they should teach students to know why things are a certain way instead of just giving them formulas to memorise. This way when the student forgets a certain method, they can derive it again if they know how it was originally derived. Also on a personal level, it is important for a tutor to make sure the student knows that they believe in them and that no problem or topic is beyond them and give them some self-confidence.
