What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy the interactions with students. I realise I am there to help them out, not to flaunt my knowledge, so it's a good exercise in empathy and communication. It gets me to put myself in their shoes, so it challenges me to address the issues in a way that's succint yet thorough - the way that helped me understand intuitively when I was their age.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe my strengths include punctuality so I do not waste a student's precious time, an approachable demeanour and an engaging way of presentation. If I present the content in an engaging manner, eg inviting an active exchange of questions, it synergises with my succint explanation to stick in the student's head for an indefinitely long time.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor not only resolves the literal gaps in knowledge and struggles, but also importantly helps a student to realise their potential and develop self awareness for when things go well or awry academically. ie "How can X approach studying more effectively? What was the mistake they made this time that can be avoided next time?"
