What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I most enjoy seeing students realise their potential and abilities, and gain confidence in their work. Whilst classroom teaching works for many students, there are some that excel more with one-on-one tutoring, and working through problems with them and seeing their progress brings me joy.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As a tutor, I believe my strengths are in personalising my experience for each student I work with, relating concepts and thoughts to things they understand and enjoy. With experience being tutored, I know there are many different methods to work through issues and create a comfortable learning environment for students. Tutoring allows me to make learning more enjoyable for students, whilst expanding their understanding of the subject.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important things a tutor can do for a student are: a) Make them feel comfortable in sharing their thoughts and opinions, b) Guide them towards the correct answer but emphasise that mistakes can be made along the way and c) Instill confidence in their work and their ability to excel in whatever they wish to do.

She was very attentive and followed along easily with the summary. She had done some practice textbook questions in class which we double checked and then did some exam questions.
Not much to improve, it was hard for her to remember all the different terms but it does get a bit confusing. She understood most of the topic.

She did really well in her exam, the only questions she got incorrect she had either attempted and got half correct or were very difficult. We went through those (especially the word questions) and she understood afterwards.
She has made huge improvement in her exam skills, still areas to improve on but she's doing well.

Nothing to improve on as this was more of a revision lesson - we'll move onto the next part of the topic in the next lesson.

She told me that they had just officially started this topic (using the textbook) in class and she was really confident as we had already covered the start of the topic so she was ahead of the rest of the class (great news!). Since it's the school holidays I want to try and finish the topic before she goes back to school. She also picked up these new concepts quickly and was able to answer all my practice questions.
So far she's grasping the concepts well and is able to remember the different steps to do in order to solve a problem. Just needs to keep her confidence up and continue working!
