What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy guiding and assisting others in finding out answers for themselves. For example, how to think and be independent in problem solving, rather than feeding answers. I then feel like I have achieved something in fostering their ability learn so they can be successful.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths are being patient and thinking outside of the box. This might look like explaining things in a different way, emphasising certain aspects of a task over other details or simplifying and reducing distractions to help someone understand how to approach questions and assessments.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Fostering independence and the ability to learn without relying on others. I briefly had a tutor during highschool and it was not helpful. I think that experience showed me what I didn't want and what doesn't work, which was someone who just repeated the content to me without helping me understand new ways of approaching problems and structuring my own time to spend on studying.
