Sometimes a student just needs some help. Especially with maths! Maybe silly mistakes are the culprit, maybe there are gaps in knowledge, or maybe the student knows all their stuff but for some reason doesn't do well in exam conditions. Other students rely too much on memorizing rules and formulas instead of seeking understanding. Others struggle to find the confidence to make effort. There are really a variety of issues that cause sub-optimal grades. It can cause anxiety and unhappiness, but worst of all this can...

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. She is still learning to talk aloud, having trouble with her confidence and trouble remembering rules. She is not lazy but I feel like she has trouble drawing connections from one question to another and sometimes she is unsure about which formula to use. She is a bright student and almost always knows what I am asking for and she is not shy about telling me she doesn't understand so we can go through the question.
Chloe definitely needs to work on being more proactive. I worry that she depends too much on my input into her work, so I will have to try steer her towards thinking for herself. I've also noticed that she doesn't do much of the homework I set for her until the night before. She might be able to engage in the work a little more if it's sustained throughout the week, but I don't know what her schedule is like or whether she gets other homework to do, so this isn't too big of a concern.
Past lessons recaps had to be done to refresh memory such as concepts like change of variable or number sign when changing sides. Due to this, led to confusion in some areas such as solving linear equations (finding x).

Paris has been fantastic and has assisted Charlotte bridge the gap with her maths and had a positive result on her end of year school report and we wish to thank her so very much.
We just wanted to thank Thomas Ban for the wonderful work he has done with Jasmine this year. We feel that she has received these grades due to Thomas tutoring. He has challenged and pushed her to work harder and improve her maths. He is also extremely professional and courteous.
Working for Ezy Math Tutoring has given me confidence as a maths tutor. I began without much formal experience and the CEP program was able to teach me as i tutored. The company was very helpfull and whenever I had questions about dealing with problems they suggested ways to resolve them - i was able to help many students with this support. thanks. 24th September 2011
