Often the student's confidence increases and their grades increase across all subjects. They learn that directed effort results in improvement and that is a form of empowerment! This is what we're all about, our mission is to facilitate life-changing student-tutor matches. There is just nothing better than having a sense of self confidence and faith in your own competence.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Riley utilises learning strategies very well, especially pen to paper. Perhaps one area he could still work on is backchecking and self-questioning, as I still have to occasionally hint at him to check back over his workings, but he has definitely shown improvement.
Jonah is generally receptive to the content of each lesson; any reservations can usually be attributed to the later time slot our tutorial occupies. Jonah works well under direction and consistently works to the best of his ability. Jonah needs to ensure he clearly and consistency shows all of his mathematical reasoning on the page; to demonstrate his awareness of the concepts involved and to avoid careless errors.
Addition and subtraction skills are now very good. She has been grasping the information taught and does not need as many reminders as before. More practice with multiplication tables required especially 6,7 and 8 Sometimes she tends to linger too long on simple calculations. For calculations that she can do easily by writing, when asked to do them without writing it takes her longer than would be expected. More practice is needed doing calculations mentally with no writing.

Hannah has got off to a great start and has really connected with Mihika and finding the sessions beneficial with the results already showing in her last test results. Therefore we are happy and looking at this at this long term for the next 18 months. Mihika is very patient and Hannah finds it very easy to work with her.
All is progressing fine at present and we are happy with Raymond's tutoring. Patrick has warmed to him also and we see him asking a lot more questions than he would ask normally.
We are very happy with Phanidah, he is very nice and patient and seems to teach Emily effectively. Emily likes him and already seems to have a more positive outlook with her maths. We are happy overall that the one-on-one tutoring allows Emily to relax about 'not knowing it' so she can truly go back to basics with Phanidah and build slowly from there.
