Went WellLachlan demonstrated a strong understanding of rearranging equations. By the end of the lesson, he had made progress in solving simultaneous equations, becoming more comfortable with the necessary operations.

Needs ImprovementEven though he was improving at adding or multiplying terms in simultaneous equations, further practice can assist his understanding and efficiency. We will focus on strengthening his simultaneous equation-solving abilities in the following lessons. Furthermore, next lesson, we can properly start geometry and introduce him to volume and surface area.

Went WellLachlan showed improvement in handling simultaneous equations, particularly with adding and multiplying to eliminate variables. His skills in rearranging equations were solid, and he displayed a good understanding of volume and surface area concepts. Lachlan's grasp of geometry, specifically perimeter, area, and estimates, was also strong.

Needs ImprovementAt first, Lachlan was not confident with using the elimination method to solve simultaneous equations. However, with more practice, he was improving his efficiency using the elimination method. We will focus on this strategy more in the upcoming lessons, particularly with worded questions. Although he showed a strong understanding of surface area and volume, additional practice with calculating surface area can also benefit him.

Went WellLachlan showed improvements in understanding and applying volume formulas for different shapes, demonstrating speed and accuracy once he grasped the concepts. He was also able to work through longer equations, even when working backwards. Working through the exam part of his booklet also helped solidify his understanding of the content covered so far.

Needs ImprovementWhile Lachlan is proficient with volume calculations, he can benefit from more practice calculating surface areas of different shapes to ensure he comprehends which parts of the shapes to include. Therefore, focusing on this in the next lesson will help him achieve a better understanding.

Went WellArchie demonstrated a solid understanding of the algebra concepts covered in his booklet and the practice test. He approached each problem with confidence, showing that he could identify and apply the appropriate operations to different types of questions. Furthermore, after going through his previous test, he was confident in identifying where he went wrong and solving those questions accurately.

Needs ImprovementWhile Archie is confident in the concepts, he would benefit from additional practice, Specifically, he can benefit from more practice in distinguishing between when to use multiplication versus addition and division versus subtraction in algebra. Additionally, it is important that he concentrates and continually double-checks his answers to spot any small errors made throughout the test.
