What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Personally for me the best part of tutoring is getting the student engaged in a subject that they might have once feared. I really like to see the progress students make and actually develop an interest in the subject, rather than just learning to pass their exams.
I believe a tutor and a student grows together, as every student is different therefore the teaching style needs to be altered. I really enjoy adapting to different teaching styles but also having the same effect on every student.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe one of my strengths is to be quite adaptable in terms of my teaching style. I like to make my teaching as easy as possible for the student, therefore adapting to their learning style is one of my main tutoring approaches. I have also found that students connect with me very well as I don't impose a persona of a 'strict tutor' on them but instead I like to develop mutual respect and understanding amongst the students.
I also like to make the learning experience enjoyable and not draining for the students, so I plan my lessons accordingly.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe a tutor should be a role model for the students and encourage him/her on their academic journey. I have found that many times students don't have proper guidance in regards to academics, hence they develop this stigma that they are not smart enough. As a tutor my role is to encourage the students to not only do better in school but also to enjoy the process of learning and exploring. From personal experience I know a tutor can have a great influence on a student's life in terms of developing their self confidence and also by being a mentor / friend.
