What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
To me, helping students solve their problems and making a positive difference in their lives, no matter how small or insignificant it is, has always been a source of intrinsic motivation for teaching. I believe that tutoring is a flexible self-paced opportunity, where I can assist individuals in their school work, assignments, and exam preparation as a mentor. I enjoy developing a student's confidence in their capabilities and observing their growth in a subject over time: a rewarding experience.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am reliable, personable, and committed to my responsibilities because I believe building a relationship with the student, and mapping effective study plans are foundational to success. I am an active listener and observer because I listen to a student and notice their non-verbal interaction. Alongside this, I can communicate with parents to leverage the insights of a student's life and measure their growth. Besides, I can focus on setting a goal, do backward design lesson planning, and make individualised activities to achieve benchmarks for successful completion of a lesson.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor can provide unique support to one willing student to achieve their goals within a short period. A tutor should make the learning process enjoyable and relevant, where a student can see the benefits of learning something and apply the derived knowledge in real life. A tutor must maintain a collaborative relationship with the learner's parents to remain up-to-date with the student's performance and make adjustments to lesson plans when necessary. To sum up, the best thing a tutor can do is to capitalise on a student's strengths and gradually overcome their weaknesses.
