The thing I enjoy most about tutoring is the moment a student goes from confused to understanding- it's a small moment that means a lot. This demonstrates that the student has made a breakthrough, jumped a small hurdle and is ready to face a new challenge. This leads to learning and encourages students to be persistent.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am a friendly, organised and outgoing individual who can focus on a task to deliver. I believe in motivation, resilience and creativity to achieve results and also believe mistakes are a key part of learning. This allows me to be flexible and adapt quickly, innovating unique, fun ways to motivate students. At the heart of mentoring, I think that building a positive relationship is key to inspiring motivation and enthusiasm in the student, making the learning their decision. Thus, I have a keen sense of emotional intelligence and am able to explain complex concepts in simple ways.

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to empower the individual to believe they can do it. This requires inspiring growth and motivation, as you cannot force someone to learn but only encourage one to try their best. To me, a student's best is always something to be celebrated and from here, I provide support and aid when the student cannot solve a challenge without additional mentoring. Therefore, building confidence, resilience and a desire to learn is detrimental to create a sense of accomplishment. This improves the students' self-efficacy, leading to optimal results.
