What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy helping people break past the mental barriers they set up in their head - in other words, helping them get past a point that they previously thought they wouldn't be able to. Seeing a person reach an 'Eureka' Moment, where the gears start turning and they can finally process things in their head is incredibly satisfying.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think my greatest strength as a student is in my adaptability - that is, even if I do not know how to solve a problem initially, I am confident in my ability to methodically take steps to break things down and get to the point where I am finally able to get the solution.
I feel like that mentality carries over very well to tutoring, as I will be able to impart the step-by-step methodolgies I take to my students so that they can learn my way of thinking.
Furthermore, I pride myself on being a patient and understanding person.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I feel like one of the most common problems I see with fellow University Students is a mental block carried over from their high school days - the preconception that they "simply can't do" particular things or that they're not good enough at a subject to attempt things. As such, I feel like getting rid of these blocks by showing students that even tough problems can be broken down into a series of small steps that are inherently achievable is very important. Methodology focused tutoring also instills good life skills as compared to rote memorisation and is useful beyond the confines of school.
