Chemistry can seem abstract, learning about elements and matter, how equilibrium occurs and how chemical systems react. No wonder students get discouraged.
All it takes for a student to go from a mild distaste for chemistry to understanding what is scribbled in the textbook is someone to point out what to avoid and where to put in that extra hour of revision. It's like with any problem situation in schooling and even in their personal life, students need to know about using effective strategies. Then all you need is persistence, staying on task until you reach your goal.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
This month we were preparing for the exams. The main subject areas that Emily was struggling were subchapters in Financial maths. The main issues were just need to re-visit and do some mock exams those chapters.
Jazz's work habits have definitely improved over our time together. He seems to be more engaged and more energetic about his learning. He is especially driven when it comes to doing HSC practice questions, and takes these questions far more seriously and writes more in depth answers than he did for the textbook questions. While Jazz has good efforts during our sessions, it would be great if he did more repetitive questions outside of our time, to really nail home how to tackle specific problems.
Currently, Callen's main problem lies with solving complex algebraic word problems. At times he has difficulty interpreting the information he is already given and the subsequent working out that needs to be completed to answer the question.
I want to thank you so much, as Zoe has been so amazing. Ella has loved learning from her and I hope that if we come back next year we can request her.
Mel has enjoyed maths since she took up lessons with Rebecca which is music to my ears. She feels more confidence now with her maths. Rebecca is a fantastic tutor and we couldn't be happier with the progress they've achieved so far.
Emily has truly benefited from tutoring and I would not hesitate to recommend your service or to come back again if we felt Emily needed further help.
