What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I'm passionate about teaching kids to associate learning with fun and a sense of achievement. I personally love to see when kids have a 'lightbulb' moment, and I have loved any opportunity I've had to help facilitate such inspiring moments in education.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I can explain complicated concepts in simple terms, so students won't feel lost, discouraged, or overwhelmed. I know first-hand that learning can be tough, but I’ve honed patience and supportive attitudes to assist students through any challenges they may face along the way. I won't just give away answers either, as I believe in helping students to think critically and solve problems on their own.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe, as cliche as it may seem, that teaching a student to think on their own, without fear of failure or a sense of dread dampening this inspiration, to be the true key to learning. In a time when primary, secondary, and even tertiary environments have become especially competitive, I believe the integrity of both teaching and learning has been lost in the pursuit of good grades. If a tutor can inspire an innate desire to learn and to succeed, all the common roadblocks of procrastination and anxiety are no match for this inner drive. And best of all, this gift is lifelong!
