A tutor's main importance is to make sure the student enjoys the subject and understands it with a much better perspective. While it is to help the student learn, a tutor aims at making the subject much more enjoyable that will make the student want to learn. I am able to put the student at ease, which makes it easier for them to communicate any…

I believe a tutor needs to be someone that the student can connect with easily and trust. A tutor needs to have patience and the ability to provide multiple explanations of concepts that the student may be struggling with until they can comfortably complete a problem on their own. The student needs to see progress and feel like they are…

A student needs to be able to think flexibly and critically, as opposed to simply memorising information by rote. Encouraging these aspects of learning can assist a student with future endeavours. Prior experience working with children in schools who required extra support in the classroom due to behaviour issues or issues within the home. This…

The most important thing that a tutor can do for a student is being that extra person for them where they can come to for any worries and queries. Having finished year 12 myself I know how much it means knowing that there is always someone you can go to for help, advice or ultimately anything that would is able to aid you in your work and studies.…

A tutor will ideally be able to give a student confidence, knowledge, an understanding of why learning is important, and hopefully some sense of enjoyment of the learning process. I understand the importance of being able to break down and explain concepts to a student in a way that THEY can understand. I know that there is a big difference…

Impart sound knowledge and learning skills to allow students to continue with these skills without a tutor Strengths
I feel I am able to really get to know each of my students as an individual. I try to get a feel for what strategies work with each one. They do not all learn the same and what works for one may not for another. I always try to be…

I think that the most important thing that a tutor can do is relentlessly believe that the student is capable of learning and has the capacity to achieve. When the student sees this demonstrated week after week, they begin to also believe in their own capacity to achieve. This means that a tutor can impact students far beyond the current concepts…

The most important thing that a tutor can do for a student is to be able to fix crucial gaps in a student's knowledge. The important thing is to develop the student's ability to independently study. It is like that proverb 'Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. A tutor should teach the correct way to tackle a problem, and not just give them answers directly. The tutor should be capable of teaching them to study smart. Every tutor needs to understand the ability of each of their students and what are the problems they are facing and how to lead them to the right path. I have been a student for many years,…

I think the most important thing a tutor can do is build the confidence and problem solving skills of his or her students. I think learning through understanding is much better than learning by rote. I believe it is really important that a tutor is able to communicate well, encourage and understand the primary needs of their students. The tutor should then be able to think of many different and useful strategies to help the student learn. It is very important the tutor brings a sense of fun to the lesson, to urge the student to want to learn…
