Facilitate the comprehension of the concepts studied, a tutor is not there to do the homework by himself but rather to show a better way to do it and to provide help in understanding the concepts needed to carry out a homework or while studying for an exam. Very closely tied to this is the building of the student, edifying the student if you…

I think the most important thing is to catch the student's attention by making him relate to math. Also, to make sure that the student did not lose track during the tutoring session. I am a self-confident person that likes to be dedicated in something that I like such as tutoring and math. I am also a positive and an energetic person and I am…

I believe the biggest responsibility as a tutor is to encourage students to continue to work hard and to continue to improve. This involves engaging students in each lesson and teaching them the concepts clearly, which allows students to gain confidence and encourages them to work harder to further improve. I believe my ambition to succeed and my…

Show the student how to learn something. If a tutor can explain another way of looking at problems so that the student understands how to approach them, its the most useful thing for them.
I think that a great tutor will eventually make themselves unnecessary. I think that I am able to adapt quickly to students learning types, as well as…

Oftentimes, students are embarrassed at asking what they have convinced themselves is a silly question and are tragically hesitant of asking such question in front of an audience. Tutors help such students feel comfortable enough to lay their minds bare, and inspire confidence in them by making them understand that one never needs to be shy in the…

Tutors provide students with empathetic, informal and intimate interactions and student-teacher relationships that school can often fail to provide. I find this important as, to me, education is more than simply learning things but crafting and moulding individuals into the best and brightest people and human beings they can be. My strengths lie…

The most important things a tutor can do for a student is to not give all the answers or talk about specific or complicated concepts for an extended period of time, but instead, find how the student learns best and teach this way. Listening, understanding and providing constructive feedback further can additionally help both parties in learning.…

I am honest and have a lot of patience. I always try to have a special relation with my students, because I want them to feel confortable with me and motivated on learning.
Also, I can explain one topic in different ways and many times. I always try to give the students the confidence to ask all their questions if they do not understand. I am…

The most important things a tutor can do for a student is to change their attitude from one of apathy to one which cares deeply about what the subject has to offer and from the change in attitude, the student will start to want to know more about the subject topics and study hard to achieve great results. I am patient and I can communicate well to…

A good relationship, different than that of a students/teacher, where the student(s) feel like they can tell me that they don't understand and won't be in trouble for it.

I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is give a student confidence in their own ability. The best way to do this is NOT to just tell them answers, but to help them work through the problem themselves. I think my strengths lie in my patience, and ability to approach the same problem from different angles. I have found this extremely…

A tutors primary role is to ensure the students understands the content. In my experience this is not as simple as it sounds, as many students are taught how to answer questions rather then being taught mathematics; abstracting difficult concepts into simpler forms, through the use of analogies and other explanatory methods is key in allowing a…

- Ensuring they understand concepts and not just rote learning, as it's not only more fulfilling in a sense but a wide range of questions on a topic can be completed with a wider understanding

I think as a tutor the most important thing you can do is to teach a student to want to learn, rather than just giving them all the answers, because if you give them positive reinforcement they can do the work themselves and feel much more accomplished. I think I am calm and understanding, but know when to be firm if I need to be to help the kids…

Allow the student to be able to solve a problem on their own. A tutor is meant to provide the necessary tools and assistance required to solve a problem - but not the solution itself. Not to do the work for the student. I think that a tutor should be prepared as well as eager for ever lesson and flexible to adjust to the needs of their student.
