Year 11 and 12 Chemistry can be intimidating. Students need to learn heaps of content, be able to recognize reactions and analyse chemical systems. The number of concepts students need to master is overwhelming, and the workload only adds up as they move up the curriculum. If your child doesn't hit the ground running, if they don't develop adequate study habits it's easy to get swept away by the sheer number of demands.

If your child doesn't hit the ground running, if they don't develop adequate study habits it's easy to get swept away by the sheer number of demands.
Tutors we work with know that. They've been there. Being approached by a mentor rather than a teacher makes it easier for students to develop an appreciation for chemistry. That's what it comes down to - someone making sure your child doesn't give up.
For some students it's just passing a test, for others it's getting through SACE with flying colours, maybe even preparing for a career in STEM. Whatever the goal, we are there to support your child through it all.
So what's the next step?
Give us a call and we will organise a chemistry tutor in Crafers West to come to your home for one-on-one tutoring, at a time that works for you and your child.
We allocate local Crafers West chemistry tutors so scheduling is never an issue. Changed your mind or need to postpone the lesson? No worries, there are no cancellation costs.
On top of that, the first lesson is a trial so if you don't like the tutor we'll find someone else who is better suited.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Mason has definitely become much more confident with his maths skills - both in basic arithmetic skills and also more tricky problems. Backchecking is undoubtedly something he does extremely well, and I notice he always catches himself mid-mistake. I encourage him to keep up the good work.
Rachael's study habits should be commended. Prior to our tuition sessions and particularly before exams, Rachael identifies problem areas and areas she believes she is well equipped for. This shows great initiative and ensures that we spend the right amount of time on each subject during tutoring. Rachael always has a positive attitude and is always well equipped for each session. Her tutoring workbook and her school book is well set out and easy to follow. This is a good study habit for year 11.
In terms of content, Tanner's main weaknesses relate to knowing his formulas and shapes well, and being able to use simpler shapes he knows to solve more complex shapes. The other main area to work on is his execution: Tanner may know the formulas and steps to follow, but he tends to be careless and rush his work with no double-checking. In rushing his work, he sometimes also doesn't read the question properly and mistakes arise out of that.

Shivani is doing well and Elyza is fantastic! Shivani appears to be very comfortable around Elyza and is building her confidence.
The tutoring seems to be going very well so far. We have been working on the areas Mohamed has indicated Charlotte needs extra help with and his report was very helpful in this regard.
Leon has made some extreme improvement over this Term. In the last 3 weeks he has achieved 5th and 2nd!!! in the class mathematics tests. This has improved his confidence immensely and he shows more enthusiasm in his tutoring sessions. Very happy with Jordan.
